Whew!

Not only did we underestimate the triathlon, I blew it! I freaked when I got in the OCEAN, waded out, started swimming, & couldn't touch bottom! What was I thinking!?!?

Our triathlon was this past Saturday. On Friday morning, Nancy & I did a swim training - we were swimming 400 meters in a similar set-up to the 500 meters the following day. It was HARD! Okay, impossible. I ended up backing out... LOSER!

Nancy did it, though! I can't tell you how proud we are of her! She did it! There were so many people quitting during the swim. Those lifeguards did a great job! When Nancy got out of the water, she had it made in the shade :) Not that the biking & jogging wasn't hard also, mind you!

Needless to say, Carissa & I had to help her celebrate afterwards (after a nap, of course!).
All in all, this weekend was fun! It was great to have our friends back HOME! Just like the good 'ol days. Nancy doing & finishing the triathlon was icing on the cake. Congrats Nancy!
P.S. Don't get drunk & passout while Sharpies are around

P.S.2 Don't write on people when you need to pee!

Spring Break & 4 days til Triathlon

Spring Break was a blast. We started out in a whirlwind. We left for Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on Friday, 3/14, and returned on the following Tuesday. It was some nice memories with the Buckley family & Monk family. While there, we saw BEAUTY at its finest.... no, not you Nancy (jk). The water was the bluest-blue. We could see whales in the ocean just jumping, splashing, whipping their tale - it was unbelievable!!!!! Cabo itself is pretty, but its changed ALOT in the last 11 years, since I've been there. Its been 'Americanized'.
Once back, we washed clothes, packed up again & headed to Galveston. My entire family came out to celebrate Easter at the beach house. It was nice and relaxing. Between my dad's crawfish & my mom's gumbo, we were stuffed!

If anyone out there is wondering, what's going on with the training for that Sprint Triathlon - good question! Its this coming weekend! We splashed at the pool at Cabo & realized we are NOT swimmers! We're just going to 'wing it', I guess. I didn't do anything at all during Spring Break nor Easter. I thought, "Okay, Tuesday, the kids go back to school & I'll really put it into gear!" About an hour after I dropped them off this morning, I got a phone call that Audrey was sick & needed (WANTED) to come home. I know... excuses, excuses!
Pray for us! We're going to need it.
