Spring Break & 4 days til Triathlon

Spring Break was a blast. We started out in a whirlwind. We left for Cabo San Lucas, Mexico on Friday, 3/14, and returned on the following Tuesday. It was some nice memories with the Buckley family & Monk family. While there, we saw BEAUTY at its finest.... no, not you Nancy (jk). The water was the bluest-blue. We could see whales in the ocean just jumping, splashing, whipping their tale - it was unbelievable!!!!! Cabo itself is pretty, but its changed ALOT in the last 11 years, since I've been there. Its been 'Americanized'.
Once back, we washed clothes, packed up again & headed to Galveston. My entire family came out to celebrate Easter at the beach house. It was nice and relaxing. Between my dad's crawfish & my mom's gumbo, we were stuffed!

If anyone out there is wondering, what's going on with the training for that Sprint Triathlon - good question! Its this coming weekend! We splashed at the pool at Cabo & realized we are NOT swimmers! We're just going to 'wing it', I guess. I didn't do anything at all during Spring Break nor Easter. I thought, "Okay, Tuesday, the kids go back to school & I'll really put it into gear!" About an hour after I dropped them off this morning, I got a phone call that Audrey was sick & needed (WANTED) to come home. I know... excuses, excuses!
Pray for us! We're going to need it.

details, details

Nothing too exciting with the house. They've been wiring, 'filling in', plumbing & a/c details. Not sure if I mentioned picking out my appliances.... that was fun! We're having to add another a/c unit :( - not sure if 3 a/c's are a good or bad thing; just sounds like a lot! Over the next week, they'll be insulating & then things should be on the move again!

My sister, Regina, had her baby - praise the Lord! A healthy little boy, Jacob Estevan, was born last night. I've had her other son, Dominic, since Monday. What a treat!

On Friday, we head to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for Spring Break! We'll welcome all prayers for a safe & happy trip! We will also being praying for all of you traveling (& staying put) for Spring Break & Easter.

Note: remember, the reason for Easter! x0x0x0

The hottest ticket in town & an unlikely outcome :)

Okay, if you're under the age of 100 and over 18 months, then surely you've heard of Hannah Montana! Living in Houston, we've grown up with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. It is a HUGE event that lasts about 2 - 3 weeks. We have some of the top performers and is definitely a highlight in Texas.

Anyways..... I knew Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana) would be performing and tickets would sell out quickly! Needless to say, they never even went on sale. The only way to purchase them was to by all 20ish shows of all different performers. After I convinced my hubby it was a good idea as we could give tickets to customers & employees, I had sticker shock - $6K!!! basically so we could see H.M.!!!!

We bought the tickets about 2 months ago & just surprised our girls last week! They couldn't believe it! The show was supposed to be this past Sunday. On Friday, Jas brought them home along with the Houston Chronicle. The newspaper did a report on the needs of children at MD Anderson & the Ronald McDonald House. Some of the kiddos in the hospital 'WISHED' they could go to the show. Our girls decided they would forego the concert in order to allow some other kids, who had a 'heavy load', to enjoy Hannah.

We dropped off the tickets on Saturday morning! It will probably be the one concert they actually remember - the one they gave away :)

God, thank you for the opportunity to help others & thank you for my girls that helped this happen! YOU are awesome!

(P.S. - no offense to 100yr olds.... like my girls, they may not remember most things, but they may know all the words to H.M.'s songs :)

More space!

Okay, not only did I add the walk-in storage to my craft room; but we are extending it to the end of the porch (& roof line). Its hard to see but..... Yippee!

This isn't the best picture of our new stairs, I'll try to take more tomorrow.

P.S. I still haven't started the swimming practice for the triathlon! Its 25ish days away!
